Biography
A storyteller at heart, abstract artist and author Cheryl Coleman Zalewski seeks to capture the moment, whether through photography, painting, or journaling. From a young age, Cheryl used art as an outlet to express herself when words were difficult, and art became an instrument of communication and healing.
She incorporates her love of drawing and painting into unique, handmade journals. Several styles of bookbinding techniques combined with painted canvases and leather covers make each journal one of a kind.
You can find her photographs displayed at a local hospital, and nature sculptures, fine art, and abstract paintings in private homes. Her handmade art books and journals are available at a local antique and artisan mall.
Though Cheryl appears at pop up art or craft shows, her true joy comes in sharing her passion and faith at a variety of events. These include facilitating experiential art workshops for others who have experienced trauma, and in producing personal, commissioned journals. She lives with her artist husband David, in Burlington, Wisconsin.
